He and I had a string of private messages going where he shared some things he'd been struggling with, and I did my best to be encouraging. We hadn't exchanged messages for about a month or so when it happened. I just felt so utterly crushed. I don't think there's anything I could have done, but I wish there was something I could have done.

I really feel bad about the situation with hacker. That was nice of Syd to do the Zelda thing in his honor. I know I would have been friends with him IRL since he liked video games as much as I do and seemed to be a good person deep down.
