If we can trust the video fully, we could see as many as 16 players locally. I can't wait to see how that works out in practice.
But they all have their own Switch, right? I want to know how many can play on a single console.

I'm watching with curiosity, though I hope they've got an impressive launch selection lined up.
Interesting to see how the controller's right thumbstick has switched back to imitate the Gamecube.
Saying "Joy-Con Controller" out loud sounds incredibly silly to me, but maybe that's something that flies better overeseas.
I've come to really like the analogs on top and I'm going to miss it.
They call them Joy-Cons because Vid-Cons was taken.

Well some people are complaining that the Switch is getting alot of Wii U ports similar to how Wii got alot of Gamecube stuff. I guess this is Nintendo's new strategy now? Basically let your old generation system mature and port the good games to the new exciting one?

I'm still personally waiting for a reason to look into getting a Switch beyond "hey the new Zelda looks kinda cool".

I love my Switch to death, but I'm only interested in about 3-4 games that are out for it now.
It's also not debatable that their online infrastructure is practically non existent. I know the paid service is coming soon, but I fear since it's so cheap, they'll skimp on features that have been mainstays of online console gaming since the fucking Dreamcast.
But worry not, people will blame it on third parties like they did with the last two Nintendo consoles. It's never Nintendo's fault. Ever.

Well, you have to remember, Nintendo considers itself a toymaker, not an electronic gaming company. The entire company will need a huge shakeup (like Miyamoto dying) before they ever have anything resembling xbox/ps online gaming.

I love Nintendo, but the toymakers need to die or leave the company (without continuing to influence their overarching philosophy on social interactions) if you people want a decent online setup. The Miyamoto faction has always stated they want people to be together in person, not online while playing their games. They have stated it many times over the years but people still get their hopes up.

Years ago I spread a false rumor that Reggie Fils-Aime stated in an interview that people don't really care about online play. People actually believed it.
