That whole game just has some top-notch music. I really dig the Weapons Factory music, even though it's quite different from the rest of the soundtrack.

Ooh, Prengles, I'd forgotten about that track. So good.

What's that, you guys? You've never heard of the Japan only GBA game F-Zero Climax, and you've never heard that game's version of Big Blue? Have I got a track for you.

I had to Google this to make sure it wasn't a joke or something. I have no idea why this is in a Flintstones game but this is delightful! I just looked up the rest of the soundtrack and it's like if Aphex Twin made an SNES game.

Fuckin' Flintstones jams

Flintstones jams are sick, also Aphex Twin love

So, this is very intriguing. Dean Evans (the video/track uploader) doesn't seem credited as the game's composer, but it looks like he contributed this and a few other tracks.

The name caught my eye immediately because he composed Waterworld SNES. I've never played the game or seen the movie, but its soundtrack (below) is ridiculously good. Definitely a hidden gem - which, Cam, I only know about because Josiah Everhart mentioned it in one of his videos. Super glad he did.

Waterworld SNES - Full Playlist

Around the time I found that soundtrack, I emailed Dean to give him props, and see if he still had the original files (since I made my own MP3s using snesmusic.org and foobar2000). His response was pretty neat in that he explained his setup process. I get the feeling it was pretty unique for its time, which may be why some of his tunes sound distinct.

"Firstly thank you, it is always nice to hear that people like something you have written, even if it is now well over 20+ years ago Smile

"Secondly, unfortunately I have no lossless WAV files of any of my SNES music as the recordings were taken directly from our hardware, this is after the samples were processed. We basically had a tech wiz called Dave Collier who put the SPC on to a PC card (complete with audio outputs), so it could be plugged directly into a PC motherboard. This would allow us to talk directly to the hardware in real-time via the in-house editor that we were developing without the need to compile.

"Myself, Keith Tinman and Barry Leitch designed Medit, our in-house music and SFX editor which was used to create music on the SNES and for various PC sound cards including Adlib, LAPC-1 and SCC1. This was coded by a programming wiz called Les Long and it was continually developed and refined right up until Ocean Software stopped supporting the SNES hardware. There was a sampler built directly into Medit where we could import or record samples but due to the hardware limitations of the SNES, the audio outputted was at maximum, 32khz.

"We had no way of exporting the music we wrote as a WAV so we just had to simply record tracks directly from our PC SNES card. You can hear those recordings on my website (albeit in MP3 format) and I used some of these on my YouTube page too. It is possible that the WAV versions of those recordings are hidden somewhere, but at present I don't have them to hand. If I do get hold of them however, I have no problem sending you a copy.

"Sorry I can't be of more immediate help, but thank you again for your kind comments and for getting in touch."

Cool stuff, all around, especially as I've been spending more time learning how to play a musical keyboard and tinker around with digital audio workstation software.

Preng have I mentioned how you are the man? Because I have always consistently been impressed with your taste in things. I donate to his Patreon! Surprised

Thanks, mang! I realized you'd picked up a few of his albums, and have followed you on Bandcamp. I need to explore some of your purchased albums sometime soon!

Anyways, the "Rude Buster" battle theme in Deltarune Chapter 1 is superb. Toby Fox just keeps killin' it.

Uhm, ok?

Well lets move on.
I recently finished FF9 for the first time and gosh golly, the soundtrack is amazing.
And this may be my favorite of all the muscial pieces in the game:

And here a Cave Story song that sounds a little bit too much like a Weezer song:

Also, the Messenger had some good tunes:

it was the best of times
it was the blurst of times

Well, this is quite the nostalgia trip. I remember playing the Turbografx-16 version of this when I super young and super horrible at games. Thanks for sharing!

You are welcome.
I heard there was a PS2 remake but i never knew about the Turbografx version.

The best boss theme in Bloodborne from the Martyr Logarius fight. Super intense and eery.

Also this musical piece from SotN. Good stuff.

Aaaaand FF9 again.

I never even played FF XV but i gotta say, the soundtrack is really good.

Here a song from the (shamefully underappreciated) game Momodora:Reverie under the Moonlight.

Undertale music written with the FF VI Sound-Font:

And as a bonus, Jevils Theme from Deltarune (May or may not be the best song of the OST)
