Anyone planning on picking it up? I'm in the beta testing and it's a long cry from Final Fantasy XI. If you do plan on picking it up you can preorder it on Amazon and get a free $10 credit. We could set up a group. I have a feeling most people are not going to be joining me It's really fun though from what I've played.

Yea it's an MMO and Monthly sub. I played XI for about 2 months before never touching it again. They really opened up XIV to be more solo friendly and they actually have an open beta that will most likely start on August 9th (estimated), so you won't even need to commit to anything until the game officially goes live 3 weeks later.
I've got to say, I really was never a fan of MMO's but the way they did this upgraded version has me addicted. You are no longer forced to party with people and grind in the same area for experience for hours like in days past. If nothing else give it a try when it goes to open beta and see what you think.
It's really fun though from what I've played.
