OK so I know I'm kind of an asshole but even my assholery has its limits. How long is too long since the last reply? There's a relatively new thread in the Sports forum about skateboarding...it's towards the top/middle of the first page but the last reply was January 22nd. There's a few sections with threads like this. How long until a thread is officially "dead?"

My policy is as long as there is relevant information to add it's acceptable. If you will just say "I like skateboarding too" maybe not necro it. People will give you shit regardless but ignore them.

Yeah, I've even seen mods necro years old threads to add relevant information, so I figure as long as you have something to say thats relevant and more than a single sentence, I don't think anyone would see a problem.
