I thought the last of them died years ago. He was 65, not 62.

Robin Williams, dead at 63 http://www.cnn.com/2014/08/11/showbiz/robin-williams-dead/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

Legitimately sad about this one. Grew up with several of his movies, enjoyed the stand up shows of his that I've seen on t.v./DVD over the years.

No way, that's terrible! D: Of all the celebrities, he's the one I'll miss the most... He was my favorite actor and the world just suddenly became a lot duller...

Sad Sad Sad Damn, Robin Williams. This is a tough one for me. That man made so many people laugh and was very talented and such a kind person.

I had an experience with him I would like to share with you all.

Many years ago when I was in NYC (this was when I was on leave after my father killed himself, which makes this story even more heartbreaking considering his apparent suicide) I was fortunate enough to come across him in a park down by Union Square and have a short conversation with him. I was quite depressed and he actually approached me and started talking. I don't remember much of what he said, but he told me to keep strong and did a Popeye impression before he left. The guy made me laugh so much and smile when I really needed it. I will never forget the magical light in his eyes and the joyous energy he gave off, that beaming smile and rubbery face, taking time out of his life to cheer up some random sad dude. I know it sounds lame but he really helped me when I needed it most, when I was losing myself in grief. It has been almost 10 years since that day and I have no idea how I will react on the anniversary of my father's suicide this November, because I know I will remember this man as well, and think about how he took his life and how he helped me when I was thinking of doing the same thing. His movie Mrs. Doubtfire also helped me a lot as a child, as it came out a few months after my parents split up. In both of those ways, Robin Williams was there for me in two of my darkest moments in life, lifting me out of the darkness. I will honor him as a truly great human being and will be forever grateful for what he has done for me and for millions of others on this planet. I know there are other stories out there like mine, as he was such a kind spirit. It is so sad that he suffered so much, but hopefully now he can find the peace he was always in search of.

Rest in peace, Robin Williams. You will live on forever in our hearts and laughter.

that truly is an awesome story. Losing a parent to death is never easy, I lost one myself early on in life.

I was going to pick her in the death pool as my replacement for Mickey Rooney. Should've went with my gut.

That was actually a concern of mine and I was waiting until she passed before I made an amendment to the rules of the death pool. I'll explain in more detail there.

It would be in VERY poor taste to ask the doctor that performed Joan Rivers' endoscopy what her most memorable gag was.

Taking pleasure in life is the same as taking pleasure in death, because death is a part of life. This is a way to remember those who have entertained us or touched us in some way. Take your guilt trip somewhere else.

That wasn't a guilt trip. It was supposed to be jokey.
