For those who don't know, jumped the shark means went downhill.

The biggest shark jumping show for me has to be SpongeBob SquarePants. Seasons 1-3 were fucking hilarious and for those seasons alone, SpongeBob is in my top 5 Nickelodeon shows. Hell, even Season 4 was pretty good. Watching a newer episode just makes me depressed. And no, it's not because I'm getting older and losing interest in cartoons, because I still love cartoons and always will. The humor really has changed (and not for the better, either), the voices are different, and the writing has gotten incredibly lazy and generic. New SpongeBob is so bottom of the barrel awful that I don't even consider it the same show that aired from 1999-2007. After Season 4, everything was shit.

What are some shows you feel had a major dip in quality?

Spin City when Michael J Fox left and they replaced him with Charlie Sheen

Ironically, also Two and Half Men when Charlie Sheen left and they replaced him with Ashton Kutcher

I thought Sliders was great for the first couple of seasons, but there were a lot of changes made prior to season 3 that caused me to lose interest.

The Simpsons? Although I'm hard pressed to pinpoint exactly when. I stopped watching around season 10ish, and started watching again sporadically when the movie came out.

When the hell did some of the voice actors change? What happened to the writing? It's just terrible now whenever I peek at it. I swear it off for good and peek a few months later and BAM still terrible.

That is true, the new seasons (i think at season 12 they messed it up) pretty much killed the series and my fandom for it. I used to watch Simpsons every day, now i don't even care for them anymore.

I agree with The Simpsons. It's still okay, but they definitely milked that show dry. Family Guy, while still pretty funny, is starting to slip in quality.

Happy Days jumped the shark when Chuck Cunningham went upstairs and never came back down.

Married With Children jumped the shark when Kelly and Bud got older and every episode started to focus on Al and his NO MA'AM antics. That, or Seven. But they got rid of Seven pretty quick.

I love NO MA'AM! Seasons 4-7 are probably my favorite, even though I hate Seven.

Some of the later episodes of Malcolm in the Middle were also terrible. I also agree on Married with children. The first few season were much better.

Happy Tree Friends, the first 47 episodes were great (including the ACTUAL TV versions) but it just became mindless violence, the deaths weren't great or unique. They became generic.

Also, another was Dick Figures, the show was great, it offered an unusual perspective of life, but now they're just copying internet memes & making parodies of other shows/movies/books.

Ironical side: Both of these shows are produced by Mondo Mini Shows.

Although, they did stop their horrible show streak with 'Larva'. That show provided more than slapstik, it also showed a morbid sense of 2 larvas' in everyday life.

Arrested Development jumped the shark when Barry Zuckercorn, played by Henry Winkler, jumped over a shark. I haven't seen a show jump the shark harder since Henry Winkler first jumped a shark.

Family Guy has definitely jumped the shark. The last few episodes have been completely awful. The latest one I saw was the one where Peter finds out he has a vestigial twin, and I chuckled maybe once or twice. I still have faith that they might turn it around since they have some major things planned for this season, including Cleveland coming back, one of the Griffins dying, and a Family Guy/Simpsons crossover. Still, I remember when Family Guy was hilarious and one of the funniest shows on TV. Seasons 4-6 are probably my favorites.

I feel this is the worst period for the show in it's entire existence. Season 1-3 were goofier, more innocent and less shock humor. After that they just got mean spirited and lazy.
