Music has been used by directors to amplify the creepy atmosphere of their horror films. Here are some examples memorable to me:
This song is used in "Alice, Sweet Alice" at a certain moment and creeps me out. Yeah the song is not creepy but it is effective in the scene it is used.
The theme to Candyman gives me chills to this day.
Not really creepy but I love the music in Straw Dogs. It does give the film a certain unique atmosphere.
The overlooked sci-fi/horror film Lifeforce has a soundtrack to die for. I can't believe this movie was beat out at the box office by "Cocoon". What is wrong with people? "Lifeforce" and "Invaders from Mars" (great film) helped dig an early grave for Tobe Hooper's career. Even if you don't like the movie you still get to stare at a pair of perfect tits for half the film.

To me there is nothing creepier than hearing this theme in the dark.

I haven't listened to the whole album but the samples from Stelvio Cipriani's Nightmare City Score are great.
