I think gaming has indeed hit the wall with badassery with Ninja Gaiden 2 (360). Not really wanting to truly believe this lets move on into posting about the last time you felt badass doing something in a video game.

In Rolling Thunder 3 I threw a grenade at my enemy -- it goes sailing over their head. I've got my finger on the trigger when the grenade explodes. I fire my pistol. The force of the bullets impact knocks my enemy backwards into the explosion immediately disintegrating his body.

Dynasty Warriors games always make me feel like a badass, particularly when things are starting to go wrong, and you manage to single-handedly turn things around.

Thought I've yet to play it I suspect that Abobo's Big Adventure over at I-Mockery would make me feel like a baddass, it certainly looks like it contains the proper amounts of baddassery.

Demon Souls/Dark Souls makes you feel pretty badass when finally beating a part you've died repeatedly on.

Getting a counter hit in Mega Man Battle Network 3 with LavaStage.

Beating Persona 4 and getting the true ending.

Beating Mega Man 9 hitting the fewest enemies possible, killing all of the bosses with the Mega Buster and not dying all in the same run.

I always feel like a complete badass when I figure out an AI on a fighting game. You know getting to that point where it kills you 1% of the time tops, and that's without exploiting its obvious flaws, just with understanding how they're programmed to think. Last game I managed to play long enough for this was MK9. I'd like to get 100% trophies on that game, but screw online mode and my crappy internet connection >:I

I felt like a badass today when I finally hit a hundred in Conjuration on Skyrim, then went back to the College of Winterhold to do the Conjuration Ritual Quest. I summoned the unbound dremora and when he attacked, I immediately hit him with Fus Ro Dah and blasted him over the ledge and probably several thousand feet downwards. Felt so good to just see that life bar disappear.

Who likes role-playing games? Me. Way too goddamn much.

The last game I played was Bonanza Bros. on Sega Genesis with my dad, and I felt like a badass when I dodged a bunch of dudes and then flattened another dude who was chasing me.

Metal Gear Solid 3 is one of the few times I've felt like a real badass playing a game. Planting TNT everywhere and jumping out with guns blazing. When they start to chase me I set off the TNT at the right moment to kill a couple dudes.

Or maybe just the good old fashioned popping up out of nowhere and slitting a guys throat.

When I'd be able to successfully take on multiple enemies in Condemned without taking a hit.

Basically any time I play Arkham City, but especially when I play a challenge map and don't take any hits. I submit that there is no feeling more badass than feeling like Batman.

I know this isn't about table-top gaming, but one of my friends (a 3rd level gunslinger in Pathfinder) just did a total of 7200 damage thanks to a single bomb and a wagon of powder kegs.

...You rolled enough dice for 7200 damage, or did you just average it out? O.o

he explained it on facebook, but it was greek to me. the way i understood it was that the powder kegs acted as multipliers to his base damage.

Not so much greek as an equation
2d6 fire damage from the bomb which detonated and caused all of 6 powder kegs to explode. Each one carried 15 pounds of gunpowder. There are 16 ounces in a pound. The rules for the system we played in states that ignited gunpowder deals 1 fire damage per ounce present.
This totaled out to 1440 damage, but since 5 enemies were in the blast, the total winds up being 7200.
