I have to wonder if training like this could hurt them long term.

Reminds me of Richard Sandrak, the kid who was retardedly jacked around the age of 5 (he's a teenager now). I haven't followed the story, but I know his Russian father was suspected of feeding him steroids at a young age.

Not photoshopped.....do a Google Image search and see for yourself.

That will probably stunt their growth.

Probably. I think you can even get addicted to the endorphin rush your body produces when you train like that and go through withdrawal if you stop exercising. Imagine a 6 year old going through withdrawal, bet that would be fun to be around.

At least the kids in that video are not as jacked up as that Richard Sandrak kid. Still seems abusive for all of the kids mentioned so far. My cousin has three kids and he makes them do all kinds of sports because he believes he can groom them to be professional athletes and it is just as disgusting. Let kids decide on their own as they grow up what they want to do.

Hopefully the parent of those two kids puts as much effort into making sure his kids learn as much and become as intelligent as they are athletic.

There are no negative side effects to working out at a young age, within reason. As long as they're not burning through more calories than they're taking in, they're fine. Obviously steroids are going to be horrible for a child.

I'll probably encourage my kids to do things like pushups, pullups and other bodyweight exercises. I think they should hold off on weightlifting until they're teenagers. It can be pretty dangerous if you don't know what you're doing (not that plenty of teenagers don't do stupid things in the weightroom).
