Ip Man is the shit. I think Ip Man 2 is out but not sure if it can be streamed or not.

It just became available to stream and I watched it. Another great martial arts movie. The guy who plays Master Ip is really damn good.

Fucking sweet, just watched it. THE WESTERN DEVIL MUST BE BEATEN!!!

Having just recently watched it myself. My first thought at that last line was that you were referring to the Japanese.

Also, there's apparently a sequel with I believe the same actor as Ip.

Heh, yeah I think they used the term "Western Devil" like 20 times.

That boxer deserves props though. He kicked ass using only his fists.

One thing I noticed, when Li(n?) (the translator for the Japanese) exclaims "I'm a Chinese Man!" I think he blurted it out in Japanese.

Huh, I wouldn't know the difference between Japanese and Chinese, so you got me on that one.

[SPOILER:e3a91694f6]I was pretty surprised at how much of a beating Ip took in that final fight. For nearly 2 whole movies the guy owned everyone with little trouble. I don't know if in reality he would be able to get up from a knock out punch like that, but on the same token, the boxer would never be able to sustain such a flurry of punches for that long non stop.

Watching foreign movie martial arts fights ALWAYS get my complete attention. It's just so fun to watch and of a much higher quality. Overall it was a really good movie, the original was so much more awesome though.[/SPOILER:e3a91694f6]

I liked the first Ip Man better. I especially liked the part when he fought the ten Japanese guys. Fucking badass.

Yeah, the first one is definitely better, but the fight scenes in the second are still top notch.

Ry, I had the same thoughts about that final fight.

A third one would be fun to watch, with him training Bruce Lee.

While anticlimactic, Devil May Cry is enjoyable so far, there are 12 episodes, I'm on 9.

Beavis and Butthead: The Mike Judge Collection is up on Netflix if anyone cares for a rewatch. Also, Gun X Sword is awesome.

I saw Iron Man 2 and Pulp Fiction up to stream. I don't recall seeing them before, so they may be new additions.

Exit Through the Gift Shop (documentary) is really, really good. It's even better if you know nothing about it before watching it.

On the line of documentaries, God Grew Tired of Us is a very interesting documentary, and shows some interesting points about American culture from the outsiders perspective.

I started watching this, I'm on episode 15 i think. It's a real fun show. I will say the main story line took a long time to start developing though.

[SPOILER:99b682622c]I called it that the old guy in the park was The Claw. In Super Robot Wars K, they spell it out that he's the father of Wuu (the crazy guy who REALLY loved his mother; had a rapier for his Armor, and lost it when Vaan was on his castle.)[/SPOILER:99b682622c]

I'm anime-illiterate, as I have seen only a handful of anime movies, and not a single series. Anyone who knows anything about anime is aware of Death Note, but I just finished watching it for the first time. I loved it. Every episode was fascinating to me. If you haven't seen it, watch a couple of episodes and see if you want to watch the entire run.

Because I read the manga first, most of the dramatic scenes in the anime end up being Narm because of how over the top they are (LIGHTSABER WRITING SKILLZ!!!11!!); otherwise, I certainly approve.

By the way, Lordsathien introduced me to Black Butler, which admitedly I had my doubts at first (Mostly because it looks like CLAMP material), but so far it's a good anime,

Maybe it's already been mentioned, and if so, it bears repeating-- They Live is on streaming!

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas.

Which intro did you like better? The whiney first one or the growly second one?

Since someone mentioned the X-Men animated series from the 90s, they've now done the same thing with Spider-Man.

Also, I think they've put all the Star Trek series up as well. The Next Generation was my favorite, so I'm probably going to take any opportunity to veg out with Picard and the crew that I can.
