Maybe it's because what Vista stands for?

Viruses
Infections
Spyware
Trojans
Adware

What is the onboard video chip?

I know Nvidia and ATI are both still trying to perfect their Vista drivers. I don't know the state of Intel Onboard drivers.

Have you checked ATI.COM (AMD/ATI Homepage) To see if there are any updated Vista drivers for the Mobility Radeon chipsets?

I just got a microsoft update with an update to ATI radeon 200m i believe...and it works fine now. Vista is actually not that bad...but then again I'm no computer guru so i'm like the kid who likes shiny objects.
