for starters, I don't think a forum with liek eight regular posters really requires four mods. if anyhting, it only requires one to fight the spambots, and even then, fighitng spambots has nothign to do with editing and deleting stuff from posters.

I mostly get mad when things magically vanish or get edited. at least put something like "JEBUS' EDIT: I removed all of the gay porn pictures that you posted because they were NSFW" at the bottom of an edited post, or a post by the moderator explaining where hte missing shit went.

I also got pissed when I was asking legit questions, and things were being swept under the rug with no resoloution. I STILL have no idea where syd stands on any of the shit that goes on wit hhis forum, and have pretty much just assumed that he doesn't give a shit about any of this at all. having mod powers doesn't give anyone the right to lock topics to end arguments just because they are losing. it also doesn't give you the right to delete and edit post just because someone made fun of your girlfriend, no matter how vulgar that someone may be. If my girlfreind started posting here and someone started fuckging with her, I wouldn't be able to abuse powers to help her out, so why should a mod?

you wanna get this forum working proper? use your voice. I would liek to hear syd, jsut once, say where he stands on subjects taht we argue over. if syd wants someone banned or something , he shoudl just gome on, use his admin powers, and get it done. if he doesnt lie kthe way something's going, he shoudl fix it. if he has no problem or could care less, he should say so. secret PM surveys and comments about playing the lotto don't resolve issues. they just make things happen without getting your hands dirty.

you could also make a sub forum for deleted posts and topics, jsut move them there and leave a link where they used to be and an explanation. this way all the "tis his fat, jew is the lowest common denomenator, random I hate pugs gifs" shit might be contained, and when we all feel the need to snipe comments at each other and argue over stupid irrelevant shit, we would end up doing ti there, where the posts in question are. this also insures that if a post that got moved is questioned, it coudl be moved back (an example would be when I psoted the anime porn and it all got deleted, when I thought I followed the rules about how to handel NSFW shit. after it was moved and I said sometihng, it could have been moved back and edited to have links instead of embedded pictures). you can find a great example of this at the mugen infantry:

fuck, why not jsut upgrade to invisionboard? you can get a pirated one set up for free if you look around. I might even be able to help with that. besides being better in every concieveable way, it also has things that automatically stop spambots if set up proper, elimenating any need for this many mods in the first place, and it also has an ingore button, so people who don't like me or tish or murdar or whoever can jsut cease to notice their posts.

I don't think the method of removing posts being used allows for this. I believe the way things are set up now, the original post would be gone, and while a mod could add a new post saying they removed something, if anyone posted between the inappropriate material and the modding then people could probably get easily confused. Not saying it couldn't be done differently, just saying.

what I mean is, lets use the anime porn thing as an example.

instead of deleting the entire post, hit hte edt button, backsapc over all of hte pictures, then put something like the following right in the post.

"I removed all of the anime porn because it was NSFW, next time post links and a warning instead of embedding the pictures - Jeebus"

or just edit the post to be links instead of embeds, and leave a simila message.

quite the opposite. a site such as this needs a bit of randomness on it's boards. being "stay on topic" nazis is a great way to annoy people into not wanting to post. the three pages of tish and *instert name of other forumer here* makes sense though, but that stuff could jsut be moved, or REmoved, and left with a warning, as opposed to jsut leaving it be till it gets locked.

I would also like to take this opportunity to point out that upgrading to an invisionboard would give users a multiquote button, to avoid things like I just did.

I ca't call it "the THI forums" because it's hosted on maroonx.com, and it's a forum taht we share with that site. that's why there's a MX skin as well as a THI one.

and shame on you for never posting there. that board is a ghost town.


in fact, I would recommend everyone to register over there and fuck around, post a bit and whatnot, and try out invisionboard. mods and shit too. maybe we can convince syd to upgrade. I'm not trying to steal forumers from here, I'm just saying.

it's a matter of having to copy paste the quotes into a reply box, which without a drop down fast reply box (which invision also has) means you would have to either open up notepad or hit hte back and forward buttons alot, plus code it. it's a lot nicer and easier to just scroll through posts, hitting the multiquote button, then when you press reply, it's all there for you.
