Honestly, I didn't see any real point in a discussion. Catchphrases have an extremely short shelf-life and this one ran its course. Of course, just because a catchphrase stops being funny doesn't mean people are still going to stop using it. Somewhere in Arkansas, there's probably a guy who's still quoting Austin Powers or Ace Ventura because no one has the heart to tell him that it's not funny anymore. That, or people just stopped talking to him completely.

The reality is that if I asked you all to stop saying it, most of you probably would. But then there'd be a few people who'd just use it more, either because they're bored, they think it's even funnier that I want people to stop saying it, they want to see if they can get away with it, they don't like being told what to do, or they simply have nothing worthwhile to say.

And then you have fights break out in threads.

Person #1: OMG EGGS!
Person #2: OMG, you can't say that! You've been asked not to!
Person #3: Yeah!
Person #1: Fuck you both!
Person #4: Yeah!

And then things are worse than if I hadn't asked. I figured that by using the word filter, you'd all eventually be forced to take the hint.
