No, it's not spam.
What I'm wondering is if any here knows of any companies or anything that can loan $1000-$2000 ASAP. I know this may seem silly, but I'm at my wit's end and I'm not sure where to turn ultimately.
- We want to move to Illinois as my girlfriend has a guaranteed job there as an assistant manager at a Dollar General.
- We have our eye on the Orchard Lakes apartments, which with her income plus me having even a part-time job would be enough to live definitely.
- The main problem is we need the aforementioned amount of money to get started. I owe the electric bill here, plus we'd have to pay to get our stuff moved and to pay down on the apartment. The apartment itself is at least $300 down and probably includes the first months rent.
The thing about a loan is that she'll need a job to get a loan, but she can't get the job until we can get a place which would require the loan. We'd build up money here, but we haven't been able to get jobs for months. We have no collateral as we really have nothing of value. We have two laptops but they're both crappy.
If anyone has any ideas or information on anything, please, please post it here.

What ever you do, DO NOT get a loan from one of those cash advance loan places. Unless, of course, you enjoy paying a 20% and up intrest rate.

Gosh, I really don't know -- you've probably already thought of anything I can think of. I'm assuming that asking friends and family is out of the question? Do you have credit cards that you could pay some of that stuff with? Obviously that's not an elegant solution, but it is a loan of sorts.
And Syd, you should totally move to Illinois. Although I can't vouch for it necessarily being any better than Massachusetts, except for the presence of several forum members.

If there was any way I could help out, I would, but I'm going to be moving soon as well, so I have to tackle deposit, first months rent, and setting up electric and communications. If I can think of something else, I'll let you know.
Oh, and SydLexiaCON in the midwest would be awesome. I could stand to drive five or six hours to either Champaign or Chicago in that event.
