That is the correct answer Wink .

No, seriously, that's awesome. How are you feeling about the Inferno game that's coming out? Part of me is super-excited that they'd even attempt something like that, and then I kind of realize that there's a 90% chance most of the source material will get thrown out, and its going to be a GoW clone... Confused

I really want to play it, but no matter what it will not be able to capture the hell-scape that is in my imagination. Yeah it will really break down to a GoW clone, your are right there, I just hope they can make the environments, music and overall feeling do the source some justice, even with what you can get away with today as far as graphic content, I do not think they will be able to portray the nightmarish layers of hell to my satisfaction. Still going to play it but I don't think it will ever be a top shelf game.

I saw part of it, It has gotten a lot of praise but the format just isn't my type of thing. Check it out though you may really like it.

I don't really have a definite favorite but if I had to choose one I'd say Confederacy of Dunces. The way the story is told from the different viewpoints of the people all around the French Quarter is really well done and the comedy holds up really well. I haven't genuinely laughed that much in a long time.

God I love that book. It STILL makes me get all teary-eyed even though I know how its going to turn out.

Did you ever see the Gary Sinese/John Malcovich move version? Excellent adaptation imho.

Burgess Meredith and Lon Chaney Jr. would argue against that Hawk, and so would I!

Nah, but seriously it was an OK adaption but not good enough to trump out the 1939 version.

I liked that version a lot. It captured the feel of the era very, very well. But I still maintain the newer version captured the emotion and spirit of the story and characters better.

You already said that.

Also, I'd like to add Leo Tolstoy's Family Happiness as my favorite shorter work... it's a novel, but it's only like, eighty pages, so yeah.

I read a teen novel in middle school called Shoulder the Sky by Lesley Choyce which has stuck with me ever since. Its the kind of book you should actually read as a teenager.
Tim O'Brien's work is some of my favorite reading, especially The Things They Carried, I've been trying to read If I Die In a Combat Zone but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
In fantasy, I love the Otherland series by Tad Williams, but to read them you have to be prepared to read them all at once, since they aren't four different books, but one long book in four parts. Totally worth the read though.

This, its counterparts, or possibly something from A Song of Fire and Ice.
Or Neuromancer.

It's a tie between Rant by Palahniuk and Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace. When I was younger I was a huge fan of the Shannara series by Terry Brooks and I still love the books, but my tastes have matured a little bit. In some respects, at least.

Completely agreed. Lou Chaney Jr. was Oscar worthy.

I also liked the guy who played Candy.

^ You won't often find me arguing in favor of a remake, but I still maintain that Sinese and Malcovitch captured the spirit of the characters better than any actors have before or since.
