So Murdar and Clyde tied. What the hell should I do?
This poll will run for 5 days.

Having a three way dance doesn't seem fair to the next round opponent that advances and you can google answers to trivia questions, so here's my solution.
Syd selects either 7, 9, or 11 (odd number being the important thing) forum members- either randomly or through some sort of system (most active members, most senior members, whatever) to vote on an "overtime" period between Murdar and Clyde. This way there can be no tie.
I guess that's kinda like the BCS, and I hate the BCS, but it works I suppose.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us. |

I like Kubo's suggestion, hence my vote for "Other".

I'm ok with Kubo's suggestion. I would say though that I wouldn't be opposed to having them both lose and giving the person they're facing a bye in the next round. I'm thinking (as an example) of Andre the Giant vs. Hogan in Wrestlemania IV.

I'd be willing to go with Kubo's suggestion, but let me throw this out there: how about Murdar can advance if he beats both me and greeneyedzeke in MK2 via Kaillera?
Also, Murdar wouldn't be able to cheat, not with the sort of questions I was planning on asking. I was gonna ask shit like "How many Goombas are in Level 7-3 of Super Mario Bros.?" It would be stuff that he'd have to find by playing games. I guess that makes it more of a scavenger hunt, but whatever.

Maybe if the challenger were beating ME and greeneyedzeke in MK2, since I don't recall you ever beating me in MK1 unless I went easy on you (After I learned how to defend myself from your dreaded "jump-punch" strategy, lol). I actually like the idea of 11 senior board members doing a vote. I'd say they both lose, since neither won (Like the subgame played in Shahrazad!) except that then Hitler gets the bye, and Hitler's only fun when he legitimately beats people.

It's spelled Charizard, dumbass.
Oh wait, you mean that chick who told the stories in 1001 Arabian Nights. You weren't even close.

Either Kubo's suggestion or beating you guys in MK2 would sound kosher to me. I think a tiebreaker that either (1) continues to involve people voting, or (2) requires some kind of skill that's more than a scavenger hunt or trivia contest makes a lot of sense.
Although I think it'd be more appropriate if he beat you in 2-player Pac-Man or something...

I would say either MK or Street Fighter to win, but someone has to capture a vid and post it on YouTube if you guys have the match.

Although an MK2 battle would be intriguing, I don't really see what relevance that has, other than the fact that we're in the video game section of the forums. Perhaps if it was a "Pac-Man highest score" contest it would make more sense.
I'm not really up for proving one's skill to pick a winner; this is, after all, a contest where strangers (for the most part) are voting on whether or not anyone on these forums could beat semi-lame video game characters.
I'm for Kubo's "political runoff" idea although I'm still leaning toward the opinion that a tie means they both lose.

This is a 5 day poll, so the issue isn't going to be resolved any time soon. However, there WILL be a winner. I've already decided that. We have plenty of time left until the round ends though.

I wish there was online in MAME.. I'm dying to fight somebody in The King of Fighters '98.
Either there's not online, or I'm stupid.

There are some MAME clients, as well as other arcade emulators, that offer online via Kaillera.
