(sorry trying to keep busy)
Much like the music forum game, except with rules to make it quicker. (I want to do a 90's one before the end of the year assuming people like this one.)
It's not a complete list so I need some suggestions of movies to add/remove.
The number 96 works well and this whole thing will be done in 3 weeks.

Round 1. 8 movies put into each bracket. Top 2 move on.
Round 2. 4 movies from each bracket. Only 1 moves on.
Round 3. 3 winning movies faceoff on each side. Only 1 moves on to finals.
Round 4. Head to Head 80's goodness, fighting for the right to be OUR #1.

I will play if you promise not to apologize. You haven't done anything wrong. Period.

I'm reviewing the selection now.

How long is each round?
How many points/votes are available per round per person?

Add:
Princess Bride
Raiders of the Lost Arc
Airplane
Blues Brothers
Porky's
Rocky III
Rocky IV
War Games
Beverly Hills Cop
Rambo: First Blood Part II
Good Morning Vietnam
Who Framed Roger Rabit
Batman
Coming to America
Spies like us
Naked Gun
Little Mermaid

Remove:
Die Hard 2 (we know damn well that the first one was better, might as well just agree that if it came down to these two, the first would win)

Have a pre-round that determines which Friday the 13th will make it. Don't put them all in, same with Nightmare on Elm Street.

Its just a daily poll, the two with the most votes stay alive, the rest get thrown out in the pits of 80's hell.

I had all those movies on this list except for spies like us. Weird...

Stand By Me isn't on the list, but Ghostbusters 2 is. We really need to do a last minute trade.

For the sake of record keeping, will a new poll be made each day in a new thread or will we look to this thread each day?

When does voting end each day?

Everything will be contained in this thread. For the sake of a tie I will cast my vote between the those. If there is a three way tie, it will go by IMDB's average rating of the ones left over.

Poll will run for 1 day and a new one will be posted at approximately midnight.

I feel like an auditor.

Maybe that's what I should do for a living.

Also, I should say, I voted for Big.

Predator was my second choice.

I voted for Predator, and Big was my second choice. Teen wolf was a contender, too.
I feel that Michael J. Fox really tranformed himself for the role. Hoo Ha!

I voted for stripes because it had the greatest 80's comedic feel to it. My second choice was Predator or Big.

Hey sweet list but where is Buckaroo Banzai? The ultimate 80's Sci-Fi movie IMO.

Well I need help choosing two to remove.
Stand By Me replaces...
Buckaroo Banzai replaces...

I'm thinking of condensing the Idiana Jones into one category, Back to the Future II, Ghostbusters II, combine the Star Wars? Thoughts. Next one is coming in a couple hours...

Well I am pretty sure nobody would vote Xanadu. Surprised

Edit: Oh fuck, where's Road House. Sorry I don't mean to be annoying. Anyway to just add another round?

Well, that's 3, maybe if we can come up with 5 more, just add another round, and the finals will be a 3-way battle.

How about for the Extra Round:

Buckaroo Banzai
Stand By Me
Road House
Crocodile Dundee
Time Bandits
Cannonball Run
Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan
Commando

Indiana Jones movies and Star Wars movies need to be independent.

Ghost busters can be joined.

Wait, so...

are we playing the game on the movies in the poll above, or on that big list of 96? If we're going by the list, I vote for Ferris Bueller. If we're going by the poll, I'm sticking with Footloose.
